As we've mentioned before, there is a lot of death in this franchise. With a game series built upon assassinating people, you should expect to see guys stabbed in the back and thrown off rooftops. From the sadness surrounding the JFK assassination to the death of Harry Houdini, there has been one organization behind it all. That organization was the Templar order, now working under the name of Abstergo Industries. Their enemies, the assassins, work in the shadows to fight them, but the influence of the Templars is vast and great. In this meme, we are shown that perhaps that reach extends to our world, as the new Google Drive logo is a very familiar logo. In fact, it looks just like the logo for Abstergo Industries. 21 Wrong Guy
In this next meme, we get to see how easily it is for your character to be forgotten or disappear in a city where you have committed quite a lot of murders. You'd think that when the body count rises in a city that a witness would come forward and describe you well enough to be known. It doesn't matter how big a city is, once word gets out that you are assassinating big political figures and criminals, you'd think soldiers would automatically recognize the robes and face of that assassin. Yet, with a simple bribe or tearing down of a wanted poster, all of that suspicion and hunting down by the police suddenly disappears, and no matter how wanted the murderer is they will completely ignore you. Even when blending in with the crowd, it should be simple to spot someone wearing an elaborate robe with hood, but you are suddenly invisible to them.
20 Ethics Of Hunting
Starting in Assassin's Creed III, hunting becomes an integral tool in the narrative. Exploring a world without modern technology means finding ways of surviving harsh environments without modern restaurants or grocery stores. Instead, you have to gather herbs and hunt animals in the wild. Whether you are exploring the woods or traveling the seas to unexplored islands, there are a vast array of animals you must hunt for food and supplies, as well as crafting medicine and clothing. Basically, it's a vegan and vegetarian nightmare. In this meme, we get to see the hilarious morality of hunting at play. The assassin comes across a hunter who has snared an adorable rabbit in a hunting trap. At first it appears the assassin is coming to its aid as the hunter points a gun at it, but in the end, it turns out a gunshot would ruin the coat and so the assassin starts stabbing the animal to preserve the skin. One of the most crucial aspects of the Assassin's Creed franchise is stealth. Moving around these larger than life versions of real historical settings like Venice and the American Colonies, you have to find ways to carry out your missions and take out Templars without attracting too much attention to yourself. One of these ways is blending into large groups of people and making yourself seem like part of that group. However, this can be difficult to believe sometimes as the groups you have to blend with look nothing like you and wear completely different clothes and armor. One example is shown in this next meme when you are dressed as a Native American assassin and yet are trying to blend into a group of Spanish citizens and Spanish soldiers. 18 Relationship Status Is Complicated
We have an idea about how things should play out with the people we have a crush on. You want to come across as smooth, self-assured and overall, "cool." We want that person we hold above everyone else and who we care about deeply to view us in a favorable light. However, what we want rarely ever happens, and we're left to become the shy, nervous and afraid people, we are in their presence, never knowing what to say and often opting to run away rather than talk to them. In the game, we often find ourselves in the middle of nowhere, miles upon miles in the game world away from our objective. The unfortunate thing in those situations is there is no fast travel at play in these scenarios, and we have to travel there manually. Besides a horse and cart in later games, there are no vehicles to drive or fly in the game other than Da Vinci's flying machine. Therefore, the fastest way to travel is by horse. This meme showcases how silly it is that a horse is so readily available when you are in the middle of the woods and alone. With the simple whistle of a tune, you are able to call a horse that appears as if from nowhere, or perhaps hilariously hiding behind a tree.

The world of Assassin's Creed is a dangerous one. There are several instances where you find yourself poisoned and in need of some serious medicine. There are other instances where a soldier stabs you, an archer pierces your armor and hits you in the back, and you even find yourself getting hit in the head by a very heavy ax. It's a deadly world out there, and you need to take good care of your health if you are going to survive long enough to take down the Templar threat. However, the medical care system in the AC world is a little confusing and unbelievable, to say the least. Whether you receive a deadly injury or are just a little under the weather, the doctors you see only do one thing for you: give you medicine. It doesn't matter if you get so injured that you'd normally need to amputate, you get medicine and suddenly the injury is gone. If only it worked like that in the real world.
15 An Assassin's Latte
In this next meme, we see the way a high tech corporation with plans of global domination are dumb enough to let their enemy work for them. In Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, the current day story makes you a researcher in Abstergo Industries Entertainment Division. You must research the age of pirates and end up finding yourself in the middle of the war between the Templars and the Assassins. In that game, you learn that you are a go-between for a shady employee at the company and the assassins, one of whom is Shaun Hastings from the first three games. He is now working at a barista in the company lobby of the building, talking to people and not being very discreet about his relationship with fellow assassin Rebecca. The meme does a hilarious job of showcasing the way Abstergo failed to identify Shaun and have him removed from the building.
14 Animus' Faulty System
In the Assassin's Creed universe, one of the biggest aspects of the franchise is the use of the animus. The animus is a piece of technology that allows people to explore the genetic memories of their ancestors throughout history, and see through their eyes as they explore the "real" history of the world. Using this technology, the player is transported through time, but the transition is not always a smooth one. This meme does a fantastic job of showing the humorous situations that arise in the animus. Whether it's the fact that you glow whenever you purchase items at a store or sometimes you can attack a small army of well-armed soldiers and they will just watch you as you kill them one by one, there are some serious glitches in the animus system. Yes, for most of the franchise up until the third and fourth game, you were tasked with traveling by horse everywhere you went. Barring long boat journeys between large cities divided by water, you spent most of your time on the back of a horse that appeared out of nowhere. In this meme, we get to see the frustration we all felt once we realized that fast travel was just waiting for us to use. How many times have we traveled by horse across in-game miles and miles of woodland areas or found ourselves swimming across large lakes and oceans to get to another section of a city, only to learn that one click of a button would have transported us instantly there? Ugh!!!
11 Proper Swearing
Part of the AC franchise is getting to explore various time periods and the differences between the way they would do things and the way we would do things. For instance, there is obviously a very distinct way people from around the world spoke back in the age of pirates than in today's society. This is hilariously showcased in this next meme, as we get to see what happens when the dialogue from the game is made to look like one of those internet generators that people use for their social media posts. Acting as a sort of online infomercial, we see a scene from the fourth AC game act as a British Swearing Generator, showing how Edward refers to drunken sailors as piss-pots and a poor excuse for sailors. Rarely, if ever, will you find British citizens or sailors calling someone a piss-pot anymore. It's just not done, lol.

Our love for the AC games can take on new meanings when special merchandise goes on sale. Items like replica props from the game resembling weapons and outfits, or maybe a cool t-shirt or hat, make all the difference between a casual gamer and a die-hard fan of the franchise. The third in the Ezio trilogy showcased the Master Assassin traveling to Altair's home, searching for answers to the order's history and its true purpose. It's a wonderful game that allows you to explore the ancient city of Constantinople, and become a part of the local brotherhood of assassins there. In this game, Ezio is older, yet allows himself to learn a new technique of killing and escaping from danger called the hook blade. An extension of the hidden blades you use to assassinate in the game, you are able to run full force at people and leap off of them, using the hook to roll along the person's back to escape or kill. This meme showcases the "no duh" moment when you are being shown the hook blade and being told what parts make it up. It's a silly yet funny interaction between two characters.
8 Apart From The Crowd
This next meme revisits the whole concept of blending into the crowd in the AC franchise. In the game, it is important to be able to blend in so that you can move about the world as stealthily as possible. While you are able to do this in the game, the logic behind it makes no sense as you stand out from the crowd just by being there. You see, in this game, you are able to wear some of the coolest looking armor around, making you a force to be reckoned with in battle. Yet, the armor and robes you wear are designed to stand out from the crowd, making you less likely to be able to blend in. If you want to blend in, you should be wearing simple garments that commoners wear, not these elaborate robes that showcase your city and house that you live in.
7 Inappropriate Entertainment
This next meme highlights something I wasn't even aware of: the obsession with anything related to tentacles in the Japanese entertainment arena. In this AC meme, we see Conner Kenway encounter a large tentacled creature in the river, and the meme highlights how they know where this is leading to. This is because, in the Japanese culture, it appears that the use of tentacles is quite common. From plays and television shows that use tentacles in hilarious or humorous ways to more x-rated films and adult comics that use tentacles in more "adult" ways, this is a clear indication that the meme is showcasing this fascination with eight-legged creatures of the sea. Not sure what the appeal is to use tentacles as often as they do, but in Japanese entertainment, they are a real hit, and it's hilarious to see the clash of these two different cultures play out in this meme.
6 History Lesson
In this next meme, we get to see one of the more humorous topics of discussion in the franchise: how much real history is incorporated into the game? In the games, it is easy to see where the lines between history and fantasy collide. Historical figures often have their big discoveries or make their mark in the world in the middle of their interactions with the player. Battles fought throughout history occur the way they do in real life because of the actions of your fictional hero. Even inventions and tools used throughout history are portrayed to have been invented to help you, the player, in your quest to assassinate a lot of people.
